Looking Forward to new talent and aspiring visionaries. RMB Turbine Art Fair presents Talent Unlocked, a selection of fresh artistic voices from the local art scene. Talent Unlocked is a 6-month part-time mentorship and professional practice programme, culminating in a group exhibition at the Turbine Art Fair in July 2020. The mentorship programme will take on 15 artists in the developing stage of their career, aged 18-35 years. The Talent Unlocked programme will focus on conceptual, professional and process-based development.

Artists will be mentored by select industry professionals and will participate in a series of workshops aimed at developing their practice. The mentorship includes individual critique and feedback of the participant’s body of work from established art mentors as well as the peer group. Artists are encouraged to be open to constructive critique.

This programme is aimed at artists who have limited professional experience, are not represented by galleries, have not previously participated in art fairs or had solo exhibitions. Artists will be required to commit to the full period of the programme and be present at the fair. Talent Unlocked is only open to Gauteng based artists. Artists may apply in the medium of drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, installation and new media. Final selection of artists and artworks is subject to the Fair management and selection committee. The Fair reserves the right to exclude artists from the final exhibition should the standard and quality of the work or artists’s behaviour not be in line with the fair’s standards.
