Managing Director of Kaya FM 95.9, Greg  Maloka  will take visitors on a tour of pieces presented at the fair that most entice, excite and provoke him.

Meeting of Minds: Louis Maqhubela Douglas Portway with art specialist Wilhelm van Rensburg

Wilhelm van Rensburg, Senior art specialist at Strauss & Co will take visitors on a tour of the exhibition A Meeting of Minds and  provide insight into the lives and times of these two great artists, and how their meaningful intersections. Wilhelm will also present a lecture on this topic on Sunday 14 July at 16:00 in the Auditorium.

Art That Speaks to me with Thabang Monoa

Art historian, writer and lecturer (University of Johannesburg) Thabang research and interests focus on Afropolitanism in contemporary southern African art. With this view in mind, Monoa will take viewers on a tour of the works at TAF that most explicitly, and eloquently, speak to this theme.

Gerard Sekoto Foundation with Barbara Lindop

Fkunder of the Gerard Sekoto Foundation will take visitors on a tour of their exhibition on the life and times of Sekoto, as well as his influences and changing expressions will all be highlighted in this walkabout. 

15:00 - 16:00

The Graduate Exhibition with curator Kefiloe Siwisa

Fair curator, Kefiloe Siwisa will take audiences on a journey through the fair with a focus on the Graduate Exhibition, A Gathering of Things In-Between.

CHILDREN'S WALKABOUTS with Allison Kearney

Dr Alison Kearney is an artist, scholar, and educator – currently teaching at the Wits School of Education. She has extensive experience running children’s workshops and engaging the youth in art projects. In these walkabouts, children will enjoy a guided tour through the fair’s exhibits with Alison, and afterwards create their own visual reflection of the experience. These walkabouts will happen in close collaboration with the Imbali Children’s Area (bottom floor at the fair). Please sign-up your little ones at Imbali, and meet Alison there at least 10 minutes before your scheduled walkabout. Children under 5 must please be accompanied by an adult.
