Art Source South Africa, a Johannesburg based visual arts project consultancy, is managed by the dynamic duo Les Cohn and Taryn Cohn. As a team we bring our extensive combined expertise and experience gained from years of active involvement at many levels in the South African creative arts industry. Established in 2001, our services have been utilised by the contemporary visual arts community for the past eighteen years. Our professional services offer strategic management consulting for projects and businesses engaging with visual art, to individual career coaching and artist career management. Although not a gallery we deal in contemporary South African art having placed works in many corporate and museum collections. Initiated in 2009 our Professional Practice in the Visual Arts seminars have gained an excellent reputation for the specialised training and skills development they offer artists. Our seminar programmes cover a range of practical topics addressing the business of art; a need in the market we identified and to which we responded. Amongst others, topics covered include how to manage a career and market oneself as an artist. Feedback from artists attest to the value they find in these courses. Art Source South Africa has been involved in the growth and development of many contemporary artists, curating their exhibitions and managing their touring arts projects. We have had several projects selected for the Main Programme of the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and have presented many exhibitions in museums, locally and in the USA.
We are proud to offer the public a selection of artists whom we will represent at the 2018 Turbine Art Fair in Johannesburg. Their investment quality work will offer the first time buyer as well as the serious collector, an exciting selection of contemporary artworks at reasonable prices. Some are established artists such as Vusi Beauchamp and Paul Emmanuel, who will be showing an exquisite new work titled Rough Collar, whilst the rest of our line up are ‘future greats’ – artists gaining prominence in the sector such as Chris Soal. Lindo Zwane, Alex Misibi and Mashudu Nevhatulu are 2017 graduates of Art Source South Africa’s new initiative the Artist Career Boot Camp Programme. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand GH4, where they will see challenging work by these artists of a high standard.
We are excited to present the following artists at Art Source South Africa’s stand GH4:
